CORNFIELDS
Life a calligraphic corn field,
Trapping the swirls of our chase,
Past scarecrows and muddy platforms,
We are familiar characters,
Navigating the vast field,
Developing, and gearing further
In anticipation of an harvest,
Built on the foundation of our hopes,
Like a canvas of art,
Curated of detailed steps,
This cornfield, we so desire to explore,
Becomes a knackered security post,
Constantly on the watch to overcome,
While skewing for strengths to stay active.
TIME WASTAGE
Do you ever get sick of listening to people talk?
I think I’m a good listener, but am I still a good listener if I’m tired of the blabbing sometimes?
I don’t fault at all in listening. I keep my facial expressions clear; I nod when due. I maintain a show of interest in the topic, but my mind dictates pure fatigue.
Is it the topic or the person? Be it emotional or dramatic, listening comes with its advantages and disadvantages.
I’ll start with the disadvantage: “TIME WASTAGE.” As for the advantages, they come as a package. Understanding, Building Connections, Learning, Conflict Resolution, Empathy, Enhanced Communication Skills, Trust Building, Reduced Misunderstandings, Problem Solving, Supportive Environment.
In the end, despite occasional weariness, it’s essential to recognize the balance between the advantages and potential drawbacks of being a good listener. Am I unintentionally becoming a free therapist?
PONDERING THE ESSENCE
What is love?
Is love worth it?
So many questions,
l ask myself,
In the journey of my life,
Love is just an emotions.
The unwavering support,
Of my family?
A comforting backdrop?
To tapestry of romantic love?
Once, I believed in a love so profound,
Foolishly thinking it would endure.
Poured my soul into it.
Desperately trying to make it eternal.
Yet, it slipped away.
Leaving me feeling broken and questioning the authenticity of such emotions.
In my attempts to open my heart again.
I faced a series of heartbreaks,
New relationship seemed to carry the weight,
Of past disappointments,
and I began to doubt,
Not just others but myself.
Loneliness became a reluctant companion, A shield against the vulnerability of connecting with someone.
WARRING THE NORM
Humans, created in God’s image,
Comprise two genders,
Each with similar minds but distinct mindsets.
A perpetual war for the Alpha title,
With males showcasing strength and females harboring diverse opinions.
“My gender!”
A daily echo, prompting the question of why? Manipulation,
Desperation,
Communication,
Social Interrogation,
Regardless of wealth or status.
Humans, whether rich or poor,
Superior or inferior,
All cultivate habits for both good and evil,
Fueled by self-interest.
Driven by emotions,
Social media becomes the driver,
Humans her passengers.
The uncertain road they traverse is influenced by media consumption,
Often leading to misguided efforts.
In this journey, humans feed on media,
But the more they consume, the more they are misled,
Pushing beyond their capacity.
Influence emerges as the greatest force in the human world,
Shaping beliefs, behaviours, and societal trends.
Everyday is a quest for balance and understanding.
ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
It is the silent anthem of the soul,
The unspoken crave to be recognized.
More thrilling than love to some-picture,
It is doing the butterfly stroke in your stomach.
Surprisingly, it’s the push behind our grand attempts at progress.
Acknowledgment, the unsung melody in life’s background noise,
Turning the everyday struggle into a quirky dance where simply being noticed is the main event.
