“I may not be able to dance, but I sure can make films,” proclaims acclaimed Nollywood filmmaker Jade Osiberu as she introduces her latest project, *Christmas in Lagos*. Set for a December debut on Prime Video, Jade promises that this will be “the most heartwarming and stunning Christmas film ever.”
The film features an all-star Nollywood cast, including Shaffy Bello, Wale Ojo, Richard Mofe-Damijo (RMD), Shalom C. Obiago, Rayxia Ojo, Teniola Aladese, Angel Anosike, Folu Storms, alongside Nigerian Afrobeats icons Waje, Adekunle Gold, Ayra Starr, and Ladipoe.
The story revolves around Fiyin (played by Teniola), who, after a breakup, becomes convinced that her best friend Elo (Shalom) is her true soulmate. But things take a turn when Elo returns from New York ready to propose to his secret girlfriend, Yagazie (Angel). Meanwhile, 59-year-old Gbemi (Shaffy Bello) finds herself torn between her longtime partner (Wale Ojo) and an old flame from high school (Richard Mofe-Damijo).
In another storyline, Londoner Ivie (Rayxia Ojo) comes to Lagos for the holidays, eager to experience the renowned Detty December. To her surprise, she ends up falling in love with Ajani (Ladipoe).
Known for her Nollywood blockbusters like Gangs of Lagos, Sugar Rush, and Isoken, Osiberu describes *Christmas in Lagos* as a love letter to the energetic and celebratory spirit of Detty December—a time when Lagos comes alive with endless street parties and festivities.
